Huntertown Town Hall

A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana was held at the Town Hall on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Council Members Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Mike Stamets, Dave Garman, and Brandon Seifert , and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present, Superintendent of Utilities Don Papai, Attorney David Hawk, and Derek Frederickson. There were 17 visitors and 1 reporter.

Pat Freck called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Brandon Seifert made a motion to approve the January 5 minutes. Dave Garman seconded. All in favor.

Gary Grant made a motion to approve January 5 General Claims. Brandon Seifert seconded. All in favor.

NEW BUSINESS

   Brandon Seifert will like to explore the possibility of recording the Town Council and USB Meetings for the public. He will be in contact with IPFW.

   Brandon Seifert would like to investigate obtaining free Wi-Fi for Huntertown residents.

OLD BUSINESS

   There is no one here representing DLZ. The contract had been tabled so that everyone could review it. Later in the meeting, Miquel Trevino showed up to the Council Meeting. Brandon Seifert made a motion to visit and approve contract. Dave Garman seconded. All in favor.

COUNCIL MEMBER COMMENTS

   Mike Stamets met with Jay from DLZ about ADA Coordinator. He now has book to go through.

   Brandon Seifert will be attending IACT Roundtable on February 10.

SUPERINTENDENT DON PAPAI

   Don had an update on the Ferguson Tile Reconstruction saying within a few weeks we will see staging equipment, manholes/pipe.

   Would like to get quotes to hang heater unit in Shop.

   A representative from Ditch Witch would like to put on a demo for a Vactor Trailer.

   Don has found that we have old meters that did not have a correct outside read. New meters will be installed which will need to be tested every two years.

DEREK FREDERICKSON ENGINEERING RESOURCES

   He would like the Town Council to consider their Professional Service Agreement.

OPEN FLOOR COMMENTS

Mike Gross, 10826 Valentine Road
   1). What kind of contaminates will be coming from discharge from sewer plant?
   2). How will these levels of contaminates change during a heavy rain?
   3). What are the levels of nitrates
   4). During a large rain event, Eel River will actually run backwards. If we
are pumping raw sewage into wetlands, what are the chances of
contaminating wells?
   5) During periods of low flow, what will be able to survive in the water?
   6) with the current rate of growth, what will be the discharge in 20 years and in 40
years?

Sarah Garman, 1928 Millstream
   She had a question on the Hackman Hulett & Cracraft claim wondering what
fund this is paid out of?

Gale Marshall, 12930 Johnson Road
   On behalf of the residents of Eel River Township, she would like to thank Gary
Grant for meeting with them.
