A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana
was held at the Town Hall on Monday, April 6th, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees:
Council Member's Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Mike Stamets, Dave Garman, and Brandon
Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present: Attorney David
Hawk, Utility Supervisor Don Papai, William Doyle from DLZ, and resource Officer
Brandon Reichert. There were 24 visitors and 1 reporter.
Pat Freck called
the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Gary Grant made a
motion to approve March 16, 2015 minutes. Brandon Seifert seconded. Pat Freck:
yes, Gary Grant: yes, Mike Stamet: yes, Brandon Seifert: yes, Dave Garman
Gary Grant made a motion to approve April 6, 2015 General
Claims. Dave Garman seconded. All in favor.
Al Frisinger, Allen County Surveyor gave a progress report for Eel River on the
clearing and dredging of the Eel River and Geller Ditch.
Discussion was made on a letter presented by Ken Neumeister, Allen County Sewer
District, requesting two area's be pulled out of the Inter local Agreement. Mike
Stamet made a motion to deny request. Gary Grant seconded. All in favor.
Bill Boyle from DLZ
1) Presented a Supplemental Agreement No. 1
with an increase of around $2000.00 added to their contract for changes. Gary
Grant made a motion to accept, Dave Garman seconded. All in favor.
2) A motion was made to delay the Carroll Road project from December 2015 to
July 2016 by Dave Garman. Mike Stamet seconded. All in favor.
1) The Utility Barn job is completed.
2) Don is getting 3 quotes for maintenance on the Town Hall parking lot.
Mike Stamet noted the the Gun Shop is moving to the newly rezoned Bowser
building. They need letter showing the change in address to the ETF. Dave Garman
made a motion for having a letter written. Mike Stamet seconded. All in favor.
Steve Messmann, 1303 Labaron Cove
Still waiting on list for Legal and Engineering costs for 2014.
Warner, 803 Gump Road
Concerned about residents leaving unused
equipment sitting in driveway.
Mel Griswold, 2140 W. Shoaff Road
Commends Board on doing a good job forward looking into the future.
Framme, 13309 Johnson Road
1). Since zoning for sewer plant
affects homeowners outside Huntertown city limits, would the Council consider
holding hearings with the Allen County Planning Commission to see if zoning is
in the best interest of citizens?
2). Would Council consider
replacing one of the USB members with a representative from Eel River?
3) Would the Council consider increasing the USB board from 3 to 5, adding one
or more residents from outside the City limits?
with sodium discharge if Huntertown adds softened water.

1) Easement over Dave Soloman field, how much
is it going to cost Huntertown?
2) Estimate for sewer plant is
around 14.2 million. What year was that figured, and what is the current

Million is quoted. Do you need to take bids for construction?
Wish someone would write a letter saying we are not
going to pollute rivers and whatever. Wish people would stop writing
stupid letters to the Editor.

1) If we go over the 14 million for sewer, do we have any hard numbers on how it
would affect sewer rates?
2). Would we be able to meet or match
City Utilities sewer rates for NWAC schools?
