of Huntertown, Indiana
May 18, 2015 6:00 p.m.
Huntertown Town Hall
A meeting of Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana was
held at the Town Hall on Monday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Council
Members Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Dave Garman, Brandon Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer
Cathy Mittendorf. Also present: Attorney David Hawk, Jay Stankiewicz from DLZ,
Derek Frederickson from Engineering Resources, and Resource Officer Brandon
Reichert. There were 17 visitors and 1 reporter.
Pat Freck called the
meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Gary Grant made a motion
to approve May 4, 2015 minutes. Dave Garman seconded. Motion carried.
Dave Garman made a motion to approve May 4, 2015 General Claims. Gary Grant
seconded. Motion carried.
Jim Smith, Republic
Jim presented Council with breakdown of 1st quarter
trash and recycling. Jim also presented a check for 1st. quarter revenue of
$317.65. This check will be donated to Huntertown Family Park.
Holmes, Huntertown Family Park
Dan was excited to give a update
of Huntertown Family Park. Progress is being made and seen. He is looking for
avenues to get more money and additional volunteers.
Community Assist Program is sponsoring a $25,000 grant for 40 communities. We
are in the top 200 causes. Dan is asking for everyone to vote 10 times daily on
Facebook. Voting will end on June 3, 2015.
Clay Weir and Dan Elias, Twin
Eagles Association members. They have 3 concerns with the upcoming
annexation of Twin Eagles.
1) Snow Removal
3) Maintenance of streets
Brandon Seifert wanted to thank Derek Frederickson and Steve Carter for
meeting with him and Dave Garman. Brandon would like to see Council
working hand in hand with developers of our community.
Pat Freck and
Derek Frederickson met with the planning personnel on rezoning of O'Neil
property. County has updated their zoning ordinances. They suggested that
Huntertown needs to update ours. Pat, Derek, and Dave Garman will work on this.
Jay Stankiewicz, DLZ
Jay received quarterly report from
INDOT on the Gump Road project.
Jay received an interesting
inquiry from INDOT concerning Carroll Road as a rural road project. At this
time, they are gauging interest in delaying Carroll Road project for 1-2 years.
At that time, INDOT would pay 100% of construction costs which would be roughly
$460,000. Cold patch may be needed for a temporary fix if this project is
Brandon Seifert made a motion of expressing interest
with INDOT'S offer to cover 100% of financing on Carroll Road project. Dave
Garman seconded. Motion carried.
David Hawk, Town Attorney
Dave received a copy of public notice from IURC stating our cause is scheduled
for final order on Wednesday.
Gary Grant made a motion to adjourn.
