A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana
was held at the Town Hall on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees:
council members: Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Mike Stamets, Dave Garman, Brandon
Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present: Attorney David
Hawk, Jay Stankiewicz, DLZ, and Resource Officer Brandon Reichert. There was 1
reporter and 14 guests,
Pat Freck called the meeting to order with the
Pledge of Allegiance
Mike Stamets made a motion to accept July 6, 2015
meeting minutes, Dave Garman seconded. Pat Freck yes, Gary Grant abstained, Mike
Stamets yes, Dave Garman yes, and Brandon Seifert yes.
Gary Grant made a
motion to accept July 20, 2015 General Claims, Brandon Seifert seconded. Motion
The Allen County Board of
Commissioners passed a resolution for Huntertown to consider adding two
additional USB members. Pat Freck would like to table until more development
begins in the new service territory area. Gary Grant commented that one of the
USB members terms end each year and thereís always an opportunity to select a
member from the new service territory.
Brandon Seifert and Pat Freck met with two commissioners last week. Brandon
has decided to withdraw his appeal for the discharge permit. He feels there are
other ways than the appeal process to resolve the issues with the Eel River
residents. Heís willing to work with the Allen County Commissioners and the
Surveyor to help them.
Gabe Brindle, Utility Foreman
Ferguson Tile Reconstruction is completed other than cosmetics such as
2) L. Schafer Enterprises will be crack sealing the
Town Hall's parking lot. They will then re-coat the parking lot.
1) Received check for $89, 412.99 for
reimbursement for at Gump Road Utility.
2) The Carroll Road 10
parcels Right of Way is moving along.
3) County wants to delay
the Gump Road project one month due to drainage issues.
has not heard anything back from State regarding the Carroll Road project as far
as funding opportunities with delaying the project.
5) Jay has
not asked for bids yet for the temporary fix on Carroll Road
Steve Freiberger, Hand Road
He is concerned that we are spending more money than the revenue than the town
receives. He asked if this is the norm and Pat Freck responded that it isnít.
The additional legal and engineering expenses are a result of the IURC
litigation and the outstanding litigations with the City of Fort Wayne and the
IDEM appeals filed by the Eel River Residents.
Gayle Marshall, 12930
1) With Andrew Conner being the president of the
USB, he has missed 5 out of the last 7 meetings. Is he still getting paid? Pat
Freck responded yes and that Andrew performs a lot of his duties outside of the
meeting and the meetings are a very small percentage of what the USB does.
2) With this type of attendance, is the Council acceptable of this? Pat Freck
will relay her concerns to Andrew.
Dave Smith, Hunter Road
1) His back yard has three feet of water when it rains. Dave Hawk will come by
and take pictures and determine what can be done.
2) Owners of
Gun Shop are working on their circular saws on the sidewalks.
Brown, Allen County Commissioner
She spoke and wanted the Town
to know they are lending their support to the community and are available to
help any way they can.
Gary Grant made a motion to adjourn, Brandon
Seifert seconded. Motion carried.
