A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana was held at the Town Hall on Monday, August 3, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Dave Garman, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present: Attorney David Hawk, Utility Superintendent Don Papai, Derek Frederickson, Engineering Resources, and Resource Officer Brandon Reichert. There were 15 guests and 1 reporter.

Pat Freck called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Dave Garman made a motion to approve July 20, 2015 Council Minutes. Gary Grant seconded. Motion carried

Gary Grant made a motion to accept August 3, 2015 General claims. Dave Garman seconded. Motion carried.


   Ken Wyant, 1912 Trinity Drive is requesting a home workshop business permit. He will be operating a Taxidermy Service. He estimates between 10 15 customers per year. He states there will be no smell or solvents involved. He will meet with Don Papai on the yard sign he will be using to advertise his business.


Dave Garman would like for the Council to send a get well card to Councilman Mike Stamets. Pat Freck would like to wait to mail it when he returns home.

Gary Grant met with the sheriff about the possibility of four K-9 openings. He would like to see our resource officer, Brandon Reichert, to be able to obtain a K-9 for the Town.

Don Papai
   1) The Ferguson Tile Reconstruction is finished. Restorations are almost completed with seed and straw.
   2) L. Schafer Enterprises paved and lined the Town Hall parking lot this past Saturday,
   3) Street stripping will begin on Tuesday, August 4.
   4) Don would like the Council to approve the purchase of 2005 International truck. Clerk Treasurer, Cathy Mittendorf, reports there is enough money for the purchase coming from Rainy Day Fund, Water, and Sewer. The truck will be available in around 60 days. Gary Grant made a motion to approve the purchase from the Rainy Day Fund. Dave Garman seconded. Motion carried.
   5) Don has requested more paid time off when he travels to Europe later this month. Andrew Conner would like to see a total of 21 PTO days for Don.
   6) Don is working on adding an entry level position employee. He will present this to the Council after more research.

David Hawk
   Dave will be meeting with the City of Fort Wayne Utility Board on Tuesday, August 4. They will be discussing IURC & IDEM issues and other related pending issues.


Lisa Allen, 15404 Washington Street
   1) She is upset that when the County was finishing the Ferguson Ditch, there is damage to her property. Limbs were cut on a tree and half of a spreader bush was removed. Don Papai will contact the County on this.
   2) She now has an additional drain on her property. The original drain was there, but buried.

Gary Grant made a motion to adjourn, Dave Garman seconded. Motion carried.

Next Council Meeting is Monday, August 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.
