A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana was held on Monday October 19, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Mike Stamets, Dave Garman, Brandon Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present, Attorney David Hawk, Utility Foreman Gabe Brindle, and Resource Officer Brandon Reichert. There were 14 guests and 1 reporter.

Pat Freck called the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance.


COUNCIL ACTIONS

Gary Grant made a motion to accept October 5, 2015 Meeting Minutes, Dave Garman seconded. Motion carried.

Gary Grant made a motion to accept Special Meeting Minutes, Mike Stamets seconded. Pat Freck yes, Gary Grant yes, Mike Stamets yes, Dave Garman yes, Brandon Seifert abstained.

Dave Garman made a motion to accept October 19, 2015 General Claims for $63,239.21, Mike Stamets seconded. Motion carried.

Gary Grant made a motion to introduce Huntertown Ordinance No. 15-004 to amend Ordinance No. 14-012 providing for the payment of salaries of elected officials and other employees of the a Town Of Huntertown for fiscal year 2015. Dave Garman seconded motion. Motion carried.

Brandon Seifert made a motion to consider Ordinance No. 15-004, Gary Grant seconded. Motion carried.

Mike Stamets made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 15-004, Gary Grant seconded. Motion carried.

Gary Grant made a motion to accept Retha Hicks Consulting Proposal for the Town of Huntertown, pending approval of attorney David Hawk. Brandon Seifert seconded. Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

   Jim Smith, Republic Services, Inc. thanked the Town of Huntertown for the automatic renewal of contact for 2016. The terms of the contract remain the same as 2015, which he stated equated to about $0.14 per household.
   Jim handed a Huntertown Revenue Share-Q3 2015 report. Recycling has steadily gone down this quarter.

COMMENTS/REPORTS

Dave Garman reported that he was approached by a Huntertown resident praising utility worker Tim Shobert for a job well done, twice.

Cathy Mittendorf, Clerk Treasurer
   1) Cathy presented the Council Ordinance No. 15-004 to amend the salary ordinance for the hiring of a part time employee.
   2) Cathy also presented Council with a proposal contract from Retha Hicks who is the Clerks consultant.

Gabe Brindle, Utility Foreman
   1) Don will be collecting bids for snow plowing for several of our sub-divisions.
   2) The Gump project is ready to proceed with relocation and reconstructions.
   3) Leaf pickup has begun and will continue until around November 25, 2015.
   4) We should be receiving the dump truck sometime in November.

David Hawk, Attorney
   1) Dave will be attending the pre-trail hearing with the OEA Wednesday and Thursday of this week in Indianapolis.
   2) IDEM is working on changes for Gump Road. There are a couple of changes to get through.
