A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana was held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Pat Freck, Gary Grant, Mike Stamets, Dave Garman, Brandon Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present: Attorney David Hawk, Utility Foreman Gabe Brindle, and Derek Frederickson, Engineering Resources. There were 9 guests and 1 reporter.

Pat Freck called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

COUNCIL ACTIONS

Dave Garman made a motion to approve January 4, 2016 Minutes, Brandon Seifert seconded. Motion carried.

Gary Grant made a motion to approve General Claims in the amount of $138,092,57, Mike Stamets seconded. Motion carried.

Council Member Mike Stamets moves to Introduce and place on its first reading Ordinance No. 16-001, and Council Member Gary Grant seconds the Motion. The motion passes with a vote of 5 Council Members. Ordinance Authorizing the Acquisition, Construction and Installation of Certain Improvements for the Sewage Works System of the Town of Huntertown, Indiana, The Issuance of Revenue Bonds to Provide the Cost Thereof, The Collection, Segregation and Distribution of the Revenues of Such System, The Safeguarding of the Interests of the Owners of Such Revenue Bonds and Other Matters Connected Therewith, Including the Refunding of Bond Anticipation Notes, the Issuance of Notes in anticipation of such Bonds, and repealing Ordinances inconsistent Herewith.

Council Member Mike Stamets moves to suspend the rules and Consider Ordinance No. 16-001 for Adoption and Council Member Gary Grant seconded the motion. The motion passes with a vote of 5 Council Members. Dave Garman made a motion to Adopt Resolution No. 16-004, Mike Stamets seconded. Motion carried. A Resolution Approving a Contract for the Services of a Town Attorney.

OLD BUSINESS

Resolution No. 16-004 was approved for Contract of Town Attorney, David Hawk.

COMMENTS/REPORTS

Brandon Seifert would like report that there were false accusations reported against him at the last Council Meeting.

Dave Garman would like to know what can be done about the large ice pile-up on Apollo and Gemini Drive? Gabe Brindle reported there is an active sump pump discharging near the road. Gary Grant feels like this should be a priority to fix this problem.

Pat Freck received a call from our Webmaster. They feel some updates are needed. Council approves and will proceeed. Project should take around 10 hours.

Gabe Brindle
   1)The town will be receiving the New Dump Truck within the next few weeks.
   2) The contractors for the Gump Road project will be putting in their field office. Pat Freck will need to sign the Field Office agreement.
   3) Don would like the Councilís approval to seek land value of property located at the Water Tower. Pat Freck would like Council to make the contacts with appraisers.
   4) Don presented proposals for replacing Towns phones/radio.
   5) The county has 2 new Hot Boxes (asphalt paving units) that will be going up for sale.

Derek Frederickson
   Derek reported that the Land Usage Committee will be meeting with County Planning Department on Thursday, January 21.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Betty Lavacheck, 2127 Myers Drive
   She questioned David Hawk if it was true that Brandon Seifert and Dave Garman had cost Huntertown over $150,000.00 in legal expenses.  She also reminded Brandon and Dave that they were elected by Huntertown.

Gary Grant made a motion to adjourn, Dave Garman seconded. Motion carried.
