A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana
was held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Pat Freck, Gary Grant,
Mike Aker, Brandon Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present:
Attorney Carrie Gutman, Tim Schobert, Utility worker, Engineering Resources,
Derek Frederickson, and Resource Officer Brandon Reichert.
called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mike Aker made a motion to approve June 6, 2016
Meeting Minutes, Gary Grant seconded. Pat Freck-abstain, Gary Grant-yes, Mike
Aker-yes, Brandon Seifert-yes. Motion carried.
Brandon Seifert made a
motion to accept June 20, 2016 General Claims in the amount of $94,753.69, Mike
Aker seconded. All in favor.
Mike Aker made a motion to adopt Ordinance
No. 16-006, Gary Grant seconded. All in favor. The Town Council of Huntertown,
State of Indiana, pursuant to authority vested in it by Indiana Code 36-7 to
rezone property from RS2 to RS3.
Council was presented with Ordinance No. 16-006 which concurs with the Planning
Commission's recommendations and approves this Petition to changes for 16208 and
16222 Lima Road rezoning.
reported that the Town has received a one-time Loit Distribution from the County
in the amount of $82,326.99. The Community Crossings Matching Grant Program is
offering a 50/50 match to the Loit Distribution. This would be helpful for the
2016-2017 Street projects. The 3 roads in most need of repairs are: 1) Lima
North of Willow Creek, 2) Carroll Road East of State Road 3 to corporate
boundary, and 3) Hunter Road from the abandon railroad to the West corporate
boundary. Grant needs to be filed by July 15, 2016. If Grant is approved, it
will be awarded on August 2, 2016.
Clerk asked Council to consider
purchasing a podium to be used in the meeting room. The cost would be under
$200. Council approved.
Gary Grant reported that we have recently
received a canine that has already been put to work and then some. He was able
to track an dangerous individual and has located some illegal drugs. Thank you
Brandon Reichert for a good job with your canine.
1) The contractor on the Gump Road project was going to remove the damaged
Huntertown sign with his crane, in return for allowing them to put their trailer
on our property. They will need the crane the entire time, so would be charging
us overtime to drop sign. Don is getting quotes from a professional company to
