A meeting of the Town Council of Huntertown, Indiana
was held on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Pat Freck, Gary Grant,
Mike Stamets, Mike Aker, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present:
Attorney David Hawk, Superintendent Don Papai, and Derek Frederickson,
Engineering Resources. There were 9 guests and 1 reporter.
Gary Grant made a motion to approve June 20
Meeting Minutes, Mike Aker seconded. Pat Freck-yes, Gary Grant-yes, Mike
Stamets-abstain, Mike Aker-yes. Motion carried.
Mike Aker made a motion
to approve General Claims in the amount of $96,374.03, Mike Stamets seconded.
All in favor.
Gary Grant made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 16-013, Mike Aker
seconded. All in favor.
McGauley, Director of Redevelopment, and Rachel Black, Allen County Planning
Services, presented Council with personal property tax abatement for
Precision Laser Services, 14730 Lima Road. This is a 7 year abatement with a
property tax savings of approximately $22,000. Resolution No. 16-013,
Huntertown Town Council Declaratory Resolution for the designation of
Economic Revitalization area NO. H-15 application of Precision Laser
Services, Inc. was adopted. Next step will be a public hearing.
Derek would like to continue the conversation
of street projects and the possible Grant that can be applied for. The final
deadline to apply for the Grant has been extended to July 29, 2016.
Engineering Resources has been working on a street asset management plan
which rates the roadways condition. A map was presented which is color coded
with conditions of the roads. Derek has spoken with NIRCC, who are
responsible for the metropolitan planning area. He suggests that Council
meet with them in the next few weeks to talk about the larger roadways.
1) Don is getting pricing for street striping
and crosswalks which he would like to have completed before school starts.
2) Bids for the white dump truck will close on Friday, July 8. Envelopes
will be opened at 4:00 p.m. on the 8th. There were four bids submitted.
3) Don and Darren Dafforn are taking a seven week, class 3, wastewater exam
review. This will prepare them for the state exam.
John Widmann, Fleetwood Court
would like to invite the whole council to participate in the Heritage Days

a small landscaping business and would like to be able to drop his dump at
the water tower.
Gary Grant made a motion to adjourn, Mike Stamets
seconded. Motion carried.
