A meeting of the Huntertown Town Council was held on
Monday, August 15, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Gary Grant, Mike Stamets,
Brandon Seifert, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present: Attorney
David Hawk, Utility Foreman Gabe Brindle, and Derek Frederickson, Engineering
Resources. There were 7 guests and 1 reporter.
Gary Grant called the
meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mike Stamets made a motion to approve August 1, 2016 meeting minutes,
Brandon Seifert seconded. All in favor.
Brandon Seifert made a motion to
approve August 15, 2016 General Claims in the amount of $90,462.25, Mike Stamets
seconded. All in favor.
Jim Smith, Republic Services
Jim reported there was a
total of 1178.21 tons of trash collected from January to June 2016, equaling
30.11 pounds per home. Recycling for this same period equaled 212.27 tons,
or 10.83 pounds per home.
1) Due to lack of interest with paving
companies willing to give quotes, repairs will be delayed until next year.
2) The street sweeper is in need of some overdue maintenance. Don is getting
pricing on replacing the water pump, the curb motor needs rebuilt, and the
suction hoses need replaced.
3) The 2010 Chevy Pickup will
need new tires before winter.
4) Flushing will begin
September 19, 2016 and will last approximately 6 weeks.
Additional storage is needed to get all machinery under roof. Approximately
1600 to 2000 square feet would take care of this issue.
