OLD BUSINESS

Andrew Schouten, Phend & Brown, presented change order # 2. The Russell property fencing was not on the construction drawings when project was bid. They are now waiting on County, Huntertown, and INDOT to sign off. We will initially pay around $50,000 but will be reimbursed 80% by State, making it around $10,000 that we will owe. An open wire temporary fence is being used during construction, with a chain link fence being the permanent fencing after construction.

COMMENTS/REPORTS

Brandon Reichert
   1) County is now enforcing curfew laws. Children under 15 years old must not be outside after 11:00. 15 to 17 years old: Sunday thru Thursday is also 11:00. Friday and Saturday kids should not be seen in public between 1:00 - 5:00 a.m.
   2) There have been some complaints on speeding on Gump Road. Brandon and other officers have been patrolling the area. The speed limit remains at 45 MPH. INDOT has not lowered the speed limit during construction. Please drive safely to protect the construction workers.

Brandon Seifert would like to do a spotlight on a Huntertown business for each council meeting. They could come and tell community what they are all about.

Pat Freck reported that Huntertown received a plaque from INDOT awarding a community matching grant.

Gabe Brindle
   1) Hydrant flushing will start the end of September and will last around 6 weeks.
   2) Gabe presented council with an estimate from Brown Equipment Company for repairs and maintenance of the street sweeper. Total estimate is $10,810.60. Council would like a breakdown on what needs immediate attention, and then proceed from there.

Derek Frederickson
   1) Derek presented council with a map showing corporate boundary of Town along with water and sewer territories.
   2) NIRCC has issued a call for projects of roads and trails for funding. They would like to know what the Town might want to do within the next month or so. They will be happy to come to a council meeting to answer questions. Available roads might be: Carroll road from Bethel to fairgrounds, Carroll Road from S.R. 3 to Pathway Church. Trails: Lakes of Carroll Creek to Towne Park. Mike Aker and Brandon Seifert will form an exploratory committee to discuss what might be the best candidates for this grant.
   3) WWTP is on schedule with a nice controlled work site.
