A meeting of the Huntertown Utility Service Board was held at the Town Hall on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Board members present: Louis Zimmer and John Widmann. Also present: Attorney David Hawk, Superintendent Don Papai, Derek Frederickson, Engineering Resources, Bill Boyle, DLZ, and Resource Officer Brandon Reichert.

Louis Zimmer called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept June 1, 2015 minutes. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept June 15, 2015 and July 6, 2015 water and sewer claims. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

Steve Harris and Trent Garner
   Fencing around Talon's Reach was tabled last month. They wanted to know if any decisions had been made. We will need to inquire on what size of area we are looking at.

NEW BUSINESS

Marc Hansen, Sales Engineer for Utility Service Company. He would like to access our Tanks and make recommendations for a long term management agreement of our Water Towers.

REPORTS

Don Papai
   1) Wellhead Protection draft is ready and sent to IDEM.
   2) With the severe storm June 27, we were without power for a substantial time. This created some overflows problems, and proper paperwork was sent to IDEM. Portable generators are needed to keep this from happening in the future.

Derek Frederickson
   Derek presented pay application #10 to Robert E. Crosby for $151,164.85 for the Equalization Basin. Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept Request for Water and Sewer services to Talon's Reach Section II and Quail Creek Section IV pending review from Don Papai. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Bill Boyle
   Bill presented pay application # 3 to Precision Systems in the amount of $9856.73 for the Water Treatment Plant Scada. Louie Zimmer made a motion to approve, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Bill presented a Certificate of Substantial Completion of the Huntertown WWTP. Louie Zimmer made a motion to sign and accept the Certification. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept pay application # 19 in the amount of $80,003.42 to Ottenweller Contacting, LLC for Water Treatment Plant a Improvements. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to approve change order # 3 to Precision Systems in the amount of $1612.60, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept change order pay application # 4 to Precision Systems in the amount of $1531.97, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Louie Zimmer made a motion to accept pay application # 18. To Ottenweller Contracting, LLC In the amount of $37,576.30 for the Water a Treatment Plant Improvements, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

David Hawk
   Dave has met with the Fort Wayne lawyers, developers and their attorneys, and Council Members. Negotiations are ongoing.

   1) Has USB filed discharge permit yet?

Steve Frieberger, 14610 Hand Road
   1) What is the current financial status of sanitary sewer?
   2) Wants recent estimate of what taxpayers will pay for water and sewer.
   3) Will NWACS be paying more for services?
   4) Is it possible to get a current financial report?

Anita Robertson, 11632 Carroll Road
   1) She is concerned with recent flooding. What is the total gallons pumped to Fort Wayne on June 26, 27, 28, & 29?
   2) How many sewer overflows occurred in Huntertown?
   3) What was the total of untreated sewage spilled during the recent rain event?

Louie Zimmer made a motion to adjourn, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.

Next Utility Service Board Meeting is Monday, August 3, 2015 at 5:00.
