A meeting of the Huntertown Utility Service Board was held at the Town
Hall on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 @ 5:00 p.m. Board Members present: Andrew
Conner and John Widmann. Also present: Attorney David Hawk, asst. utility
supervisor Tim Schobert, Derek Frederickson, Engineering Resources, and Bill
Boyle, DLZ. There was 1 reporter and 17 guests.
Andrew Conner called
the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance.
John Widmann made a motion to accept August 3, 2015
minutes, Andrew Conner seconded. Motion carried.
Andrew Conner made a
motion to accept August 17 and September 8, 2015 water and sewer claims,
John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.
Andrew Conner made a motion to
approve hiring a part time utility worker for 6 - 8 weeks pending approval
of Don Papai. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.
made a motion to approve capacity allocation letter pending approval by Don
Papai, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.
Andrew Conner made a
motion to approve pay application # 11 to R.E. Crosby, John Widmann
seconded. Motion carried.
Andrew Conner made a motion to move forward
with the announcement for WWTP bids, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.
Tim Schobert, Asst. Utility Foreman
The Water Treatment Plant is up and running producing at
least 1400 gallons per minute. This is 90% total capacity.
Hydro flushing will start September 28 lasting around 6 weeks. Would like to
hire a part time person to work between 6 - 8 weeks. The hours would be
between 25 to 30 hours a week at $ 11.74 an hour.
Derek presented another section of
Talon's Reach subdivision for approval. There are 32 lots which will be
approved pending approval of Don Papai. He has updated the capacity analysis
to show there is capacity to receive these additional 32 lots at the Talon's
Reach lift station. If board is favorable, Derek would like to handle
this like it was done the past 5 months by approving this project pending
approval of Don Papai.
Derek presented pay application
11 from R.E. Crosby for the Flow Equalization facility which includes
liquidation damages of around $80,000.
Resources are in a position to advertise for bids on the WWTP starting the
week of September 21 should the USB be interested.

There are very few items left outstanding on the 4 water contracts.
Jenny Draper, 9915 Miller Road
She frequently travels down Hathaway Road and noticed there has not been any
work done on the Equalization for some time. It was originally reported to
be completed in March 2015. She is wondering what is going on.
Conner made a motion to adjourn, John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.
Next USB meeting is October 5, 2015 at 5:00.
