Meeting of the Huntertown Utility Service Board
of Huntertown, Indiana
October 5, 2015 – 5:00 pm

A meeting of the Huntertown Utility Service Board was held at the Town
Hall on Monday October 5, 2015 @ 5:00 p.m. Board members present: Andrew
Conner, John Widmann, and Clerk Treasurer Cathy Mittendorf. Also present:
Attorney David Hawk, Superintendent Don Papai, Engineering Resources Derek
Frederickson, and DLZ Bill Boyle. There was 1 reporter and 11 guests.
Andrew Conner called the meeting to order with the pledge of allegiance.
Andrew Conner made a motion to
approve October 5, 2015 minutes. John Widmann seconded. Motion carried.
Andrew Conner made a motion to approve September 21 and October 5, 2015
water and sewer claims. Motion carried.
1) The second Well Head Protection meeting was
held on October 1, 2015. IDEM accepted proposal.
Andrew inquired about hiring a part time worker for the hydrant flushing
pending Don's approval. Part time person has been hired and already working
for the Town.
Andrew also asked if there was a need for a full time
person to be hired. Don feels there is a need for a full time person.
Two weeks ago the Flow Equilization
connection was made. The pumps are up and running. The leaching on the
exterior walls has been repaired.
The WWTP project has been
advertised. Looking at the bidder list, there are currently 11 general
contractors and a slew of subs. The pre bid mandatory meeting is October 13
at 2:00 at the Town Hall. Bid openings are October 29 @ 2:00 at the Town
Hall. They will be collecting bids at that time. The Town has 90 days to
The 3 raw water wells at
the Water Treatment Plant will upgrade the meter vaults for each well.
There is an Executive Session scheduled for
October 6, 2015 with USB and Council. They will be discussing how to
possibly settle the lawsuit with Fort Wayne.
